Auroville is a small town located 6 km north of Pondicherry (Puducherry), which was founded in 1968 by 'the Mother', cofounder of Puducherry's Sri Aurobindo Ashram, as an international town. She envisioned a town where unity will be celebrated and all will have a spiritual vocation.
